Natural how it is defined in today's market
What does natural mean?
Basically, natural means something that is found in nature. Easy enough, right? However, when it comes to food natural has evolved to include a large umbrella of products. In today’s market, it means food that does not have as much processing as other foods on the market. In other words, food that is closer to it’s natural state when found in nature.
Many foods fit the natural criteria. A food which has been preserved in chemicals is still considered natural because the base product is naturally found in nature. According to science natural could be anything that exist in the known universe. Under this umbrella of definition, plastic could be called a natural product, because the raw materials exist within the universe.
What does natural mean to Maxie Treats?
Since the inception of Maxie Treats, natural has been the primary focus of creating healthy treats for animals. I believe that food for pets should not be something humans would not consume themselves. Natural means, if you were an animal without the access to processed foods, what would you eat? Would it be a product you could leave sitting on your counter-top for 4 weeks and still be able throw on a slice of bread for a mid-day snack? Why would you feed that to your beloved pet?
